[This article was published in the newspaper The Daily Mirror, Sydney, 11 October, 1961, p. 24; the author's name is not indicated. The article was rewritten under the title "Mudgee girl won world fame as concert pianist", again by an unidentified journalist, for the The Daily Mirror, Sydney, March 7, 1979, pp. 62-63. It was again rewritten under the title "Aussie prodigy and the mad Russian", this time by George Blaikie, for The Sun, Sydney, 31 January, 1983, p. 8. The three versions show progressively wilder distortions of the model by Buffen (1893). The correct spelling of the surname is Okey. This web version is dated 24 May 2001, revised 11 June 2004.]
